Ash Wednesday

We invite you to our special Ash Wednesday service that will be at Concordia Church on Whipple. Starting at 5:30 P.M. we will have a children’s craft designed to engage your child with the season of Lent and help them grow in their faith.  In addition, Children’s Church will be provided during the service for children ages 0-10. The service, which starts at 6:15 pm, includes special music and the imposition of ashes.  This service creates an opportunity for our two sites to join with the larger Concordia community and reflect on our collective journey of faith as we enter the season of Lent.  In particular, Ash Wednesday begins the 40-day journey of Lent.  We are invited to take up the disciplines of prayer, fasting, almsgiving and Bible study, just as our Lord fasted and prayed for 40 days in the desert.  This renewal of faith leads to Holy Week and the celebration of Easter on April 1st.
